How do I find some RP on Sim?

Summer is here and many people are taking vacations or spending time away from their computers to relax and cool off. However, don’t let the lack of dots on the map prevent you from engaging in role-playing.

Within the Discord group, there are two dedicated channels for seeking and asking for role-playing opportunities. The “Now Playing” channel allows you to announce that you are currently in-world and seeking role-play, letting others know that you’re ready and where to find you.

Alternatively, the “Seeking Role-play” channel is intended for posting role-playing prompts, requests, introductions, and general inquiries related to role-play. Additionally, you can leverage the Eclipse Ridge in-world OOC group to ask and see who else is looking for role-playing partners or post a prompt in the Eclipse Ridge official rp group.

The calendar includes various IC and OOC events that provide opportunities to participate, meet other residents, and engage in role-playing.

If you have tried all these options and still struggle to break into role-playing, don’t hesitate to reach out to the mentors. They are willing to help you find ways to facilitate role-playing opportunities.

Here is a snippet of current stories happening on sim. Knowledge of these events are public knowledge so anyone in town could become aware of the following:

Grave Corp received a substantial delivery via a freight hauler, sparking rumors that the company is facing financial difficulties due to the depletion of their gem and mineral supply. They have purchased a cubic press to make synthetic gemstones while they work on reopening the Old Town Mine shaft for excavation. It remains to be seen which venture will prove more lucrative for Grave Corp in the long run or what it could mean for the town and residents.

This coming on the heels of the public declaration of enforcing “No Trespassing” at the Old Town ruins. These actions have sparked outrage among the residents, who feel deprived of their cultural and historical legacy. Discussions have been held about organizing protests and pursuing legal actions against Grave Corp for establishing a stronghold and restricting access to a significant heritage site within a State Park.

During the joyous annual Red, White, & Booze 4th of July celebration, a somber shadow fell as a couple mysteriously vanished from Emerald Lake. The search efforts have regrettably transitioned from hopeful discovery to a somber recovery operation, aimed at providing closure to their heartbroken families. Emerald Lake, known for its tranquil beauty, has not witnessed a tragedy like this in a long time, making it difficult to comprehend the gravity of the situation. Perhaps some compassionate residents will lend a helping hand in the search for the missing couple, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty.
