Wed Oct. 23rd – 5pm to 7pm SLT – KRDG Presents Halloween Tales & Request Line with DJ DD (IC Event) | Sim Wide

We’re nearly there Eclipse Ridge. All Hallows Eve waits just around the corner, are you ready? KRDG is ready. In fact your friendly neighborhood radio station has been just dying to get this story out there! We wont beat around the bush about it either.
Sit back, turn those lights down low, and grab yourself a bowl of popcorn smothered in garlic. Now make sure you’ve got your hand held mirror with you, and a tall glass of water from St. Margret, or your favorite diocese because on 10/23 KRDG will rebroadcast Mercury Theater’s 1938 production of Bram Stokers Dracula with Orson Welles!

After the program it’s time to open your mind as we open those request lines and you set the mood for the next little while with fantastic music for everyone to enjoy! See you Wednesday!

A fun fact from the Potion and Brews Scavenger Hunt:

After the Wayward Sisters settled in Eclipse Ridge, it wasn’t so long before others followed. As immigrants arrived in the gold and silver rushes, they brought with them superstitions from their home countries. One of these was the Tommyknockers, small, grizzled beings that lived in the mines and would pull pranks on miners by moving tools or stealing their lunches. It was believed that these beings would guide miners to veins of ore,  and most importantly, they could be heard knocking on the walls of the mine to warn of a coming mine collapse. Because of this, many miners would save the last bite or two of their lunch to cast into the mines as an to appease the Tommyknockers.

These days, a lot of mines have closed down, and some of the old families that trace back to those first miners believe the spirits found new work in the homes of the miners’ families. Among some of those families, it’s whispered that you can hear knocking on the walls preceding the death of a family member.

Do you think this helpful creatures truly existed or was this a simple way to cover up something more sinister that hid in the mines?
