They say the Cinnidh were born the night the wild grew tired of silence. That something ancient rose up to remind humankind of its animal reflection. Those who answered that call became the bridge of flesh and spirit, reason and instinct bound in one restless body.

We’re excited to share the latest updates to the Eclipse Ridge lore – This is a big one, and sees the merging and expansion of two species, the Shifters and the Aquatics, into one.

Introducing: The Cinnidh

The Cinnidh (pronounced: Sin-ny) are not merely wanderers in animal skins; they embody the delicate balance of life, death, and renewal. To see a Cinnidh is to glimpse nature’s duality: creation and decay entwined in perpetual motion.

Deeply connected to nature, the Cinnidh represent the Earth they inhabit, the delicate balance between life and death, order and chaos. They are not merely shapeshifters or skinwalkers; rather, they inhabit the land, their claws dug deep into the soil beneath them.

With up to three forms, an individual Cinnidh must carefully choose their place in the natural order, claiming a form means displacing another creature; one that has either perished by unnatural means or sacrificed by the Cinnidh directly.

Will you walk the fine line of equilibrium or indulge in the intoxication of corruption?

With the release of The Cinnidh, the Aquatic and Shifter species are officially being sunset.

For Aquatics – The Aquatic lore has been comprehensively rewritten to be included as part of the Cinnidh. However, we understand that a change might be jarring. Therefore, we’re offering a grandfathering period, where existing characters can continue within the bounds of the original Aquatic lore. If you’d like your character to be considered for grandfathering, please reach out via a ticket by December 1st.

For Shifters – Shifters should find the Cinnidh familiar territory, and the lore is designed to be an easy transition for existing Shifter characters. Adjustments can be made without any need to reroll your characters. Additionally, existing Shifters can forego the need to build new Cairns, and can be considered to have had them all along. This applies to those former Aquatics as well.

Important notes:

• The in-world groups for Shifters & Aquatics will no longer be used. You can find a link to the new group in the landing zone.,

• The Shifter role in Discord is now @Cinnidh, for the formerly Aquatic, you can select the new role from the “Channels & Roles” menu at the top of the channel list in Discord. You should also have access to the new ⁠cinnidh channel.,
