Historical prejudices and past hunts of their species have driven most supernatural beings to avoid public exposure.

Individual attitudes toward supernatural beings vary greatly, influenced by personal experiences and stories. A character’s personal history often determines the nature of their relationships with other races, shaping their interactions and beliefs.

Mating

Humans can mate with any species but reproduction is only viable with Werewolves, Cinnidh, and Witches. The chances of producing the same offspring as the supernatural parent is halved.

Grouping

Humans establish connections through friendships and family structures. While it is infrequent, there have been instances where individuals have been accepted into different species groups, sparking debates and raising ethical considerations surrounding inter-species relationships.

Characteristics

Humans are driven by their desires, which can lead them to act rashly, think without considering the consequences, and act without restraint. This urge is an inherent part of being human, as people naturally desire what they want.

Their worldview is shaped by a profound instinct to acquire and possess things. This innate human trait is even more pronounced in the realm of the supernatural.

Characters in supernatural stories often have intense desires, such as wanting to catch a specific character’s attention or pushing the boundaries of their abilities.

Appearance

Of course, humans do not naturally possess pink eyes or green hair. Any unusual physical characteristics, such as odd hair, eye color, piercings, and so on, should be interpreted as deliberate cosmetic enhancements.

Abilities

• Trained Strength – They are as strong as a human can be with the help of exercise and specialized training.
• Resilient – Despite being vulnerable and delicate physically, humans possess remarkable resilience. Even when faced with extreme adversity and near-death experiences, they often exhibit an ability to bounce back with determination and fortitude. The resilience of the human spirit should never be underestimated.
• Desired – In the supernatural realm, humans are highly sought after. When humans grasp this truth and leverage themselves as the ultimate bargaining tool, they gain true control of the world. The loss of a human life signifies a diminished food source, reduced assistance, and fewer watchful eyes. Any supernatural entity would be unwise to disregard the significance of humans.

Vulnerabilities

• Mortality – While humans could reach the age of 100, they will not maintain the same level of physical fitness and health as someone in their 20s and 30s.
• Susceptible to Supernaturals – Regardless of how resilient or strong-willed humans perceive to be, an individual human will inevitably succumb in a power contest against any supernatural. While most supernaturals lack the ability to control entire groups, humans often form groups to manage supernatural threats. Therefore, safety lies in numbers, as individuals are more vulnerable when alone.

Powers

Humans do not possess supernatural powers or enhancement. They also do not have the ability to access energy from The Lode.

However, humans can benefit from a gemstone that is attuned for protection, a potion that can help them heal, or enjoy the high of vampire blood.

Hunters

Hunters are predominantly humans driven by an unwavering prejudice and deep-seated animosity towards supernatural beings. Their unwavering belief is that these so-called “abominations” should be eradicated from the face of the Earth. Many hunters embark on their mission of pursuing supernatural entities due to their own personal traumatic experiences or as a result of being raised by fellow hunters or zealots, who have instilled a similar mindset in them.

Regardless of their background, all hunters inevitably harbor a prejudice against a particular type of supernatural being. Some hunters may exhibit animosity towards all supernatural creatures, but to be a hunter inherently implies a disdain for at least one supernatural race.

Over the centuries, several kingdoms, governments, religions and sects have recruited and trained hunters either as a means of controlling, curtailing or eradicating supernatural threats to their power or social order. The Vatican, in particular, is known to employ hunters as a means to ensure human dominion.

Hunters typically rely on their extensive knowledge of folklore and technology to track and defeat supernatural threats. They possess no inherent superhuman abilities beyond the skills acquired through conventional military training.

No matter how determined or strong-willed a hunter believes themselves to be, they stand no chance against a supernatural being in a one-on-one confrontation. While most supernatural entities lack the ability to control entire groups, many hunters form pairs or larger groups as a strategic measure to handle supernatural threats effectively.

Moon Effects

Among the townsfolk of Eclipse Ridge, rumors whisper of the wildlife becoming unusually aggressive and perilous during the full moon. Reports of missing persons appear to increase substantially during this period as well. Emotions can be extreme during the full moon, and full moon energy can manifest in different ways.The behavior of neighbors takes an odd turn, leading to frequent labeled as eccentric or a lunatic.

As such, many people refrain from venturing into the secluded wilderness regions and prefer to remain in well-lit public spaces, frequently opting for group or pair travel for enhanced safety.
