Fae Spell Repertoire
The following spell repertoire is a curated sampling of the magic known to and practiced by the Fae. These spells reflect common expressions of the Lode as it moves through Fae bodies and traditions, but they are not exhaustive.
Ráithean Spells
Ráthiean spells are innate and always accessible, requiring no external tools to invoke. Players are expected to exercise good judgment when using these abilities in character. When casting in a scene involving other players, intent must be clearly set. If a spell is intended to affect another character, out-of-character consent is required, and affected players always retain the right to respond or deflect in ways consistent with their species’ abilities.
Any spell use that would impact the simulation at large or alter established lore must receive prior staff approval. In combat scenes, a character may use up to two Ráthiean spells.

Alternate Ràithean Access
To draw upon a Season not their own, a Fae must impose artificial order upon their magic through specialized rune-work. This practice is inherently unstable and cannot be sustained without consequence.
Even when properly bound, a borrowed Season never manifests at full strength. Its effects are diminished, typically expressing at roughly two-thirds or less of their natural potency. The magic resists being shaped by a body it was never meant to inhabit.
How it works:
At minimum, three runes are required:
- An Anchor Rune, used to tether the foreign Season in place. Without it, the borrowed influence disperses violently, bleeding into the surrounding environment rather than remaining under the Fae’s control.
- A Suppression Rune, etched to restrain the Fae’s native Ràithean. As a Fae’s natural Season will instinctively reassert itself, this rune functions as a dam holding back the original flow to make room for the borrowed one.
- A Grounding Rune, which stabilizes the Fae’s emotional and cognitive state. Borrowed Seasons strains a Fae’s sense of self, and without grounding, emotional bleed, dissociation, or loss of control is likely.
Risks and Consequences:
Common consequences include:
- Emotional Bleed, in which instincts, impulses, or affect associated with the borrowed Season intrude upon the Fae’s natural disposition.
- Seasonal Instability, temporarily weakening the Fae’s native magic after the borrowed influence dissipates.
- Identity Fracture, a cumulative condition that may develop with repeated or prolonged use, marked by disorientation, conflicting instincts, or difficulty maintaining a stable form.
- These effects worsen over time. While a single instance may be survivable, habitual use places the Fae at risk of long-term loss of control, rune dependency, or permanent damage to their connection with nature.
Rune-bound Spells
Rune-bound spells require focus and intention. Runes serve to amplify these effects, granting greater control over distance, duration, or intensity. Through rune-bound magic, a Fae can manipulate ideas, bodies, reality, or even absence itself. You are only able to access the abilities within your corresponding rune. A Extension rune is required to access these spells.
Mental
Emotional Manipulation
Alter and influence emotional states, whether to enhance or diminish. For example: Creativity, passion, etc. More effect on the mentally vulnerable. Depending on your season’s emotion, the master over that certain emotion is deeper embraced. (OOC Note: Keep in mind, you influence the emotion, you do not influence the reaction or expression of said emotion.)

Manipulate objects without physical means.
Mind Echo

Emit a concussive wave from the body or hands, varying from a pinpoint poke to the impact of a vehicle.

Energy Tampering
Creating an unstable energy that causes magic in the area to cause detrimental and chaotic events to all those that cast there. i.e. magics going haywire, deeper magic drain, higher chance of backfires, etc.
Court-bound
Some effects are too vast or unstable for one Fae alone. These require ritual, alignment with the Lode, or shared effort with Witches. These spells must be storyteller or staff approved.
Ráithean Permanent Change
While rare, a Fae may attempt to realign their Ràithean. Such a change can only be undertaken during the Fae’s new solstice/equinox or with the help of a court. Because it stands in direct opposition to this realm’s natural balance, the process is physically and magically destabilizing, requiring extensive rune-work to suppress backlash, and takes up to about three months (equal to a season). Until that time, the new Ràithean only works at 75% as the old one drains out.
A Fae who actively works against their natural Ràithean does not merely endanger themselves. Persistent imbalance disrupts seasonal flows within the Lode, creating disturbances that witches are capable of sensing.
To defy one’s Ràithean is to strain the ecosystem of magic itself and nature, or the Lode, does not tolerate imbalance indefinitely.
