We wanted to let you know that we’ve made the difficult decision to bring to a close Eclipse Ridge’s presence in Second Life.

This is not a decision we’ve come to lightly. Over the years, this community has grown into something that means a great deal to us, and we know many of you have invested your time, creativity, and heart into making it what it is.

The official closure date will be September 21, 2026.

Until then, the sim will remain open, and we encourage everyone to take the time they need to wrap up storylines, say their goodbyes, and enjoy the remaining time together.

For those who have rental properties, any rent remaining after the official closure date will be refunded. Any prims left on the sim after closure will also be automatically returned to their owners.

On a personal note, we made this decision solely because of our real-world commitments and bandwidth. The ownership team has been juggling jobs, life, and everything else going on in the world; we have simply come to an inflection point where we can no longer responsibly sustain the sims and balance our real lives. We won’t go into personal details, but suffice it to say it is not from a lack of wanting to continue the sim or these stories, but purely from a lack of time and energy. Running, maintaining, and promoting a sim takes a lot of time and focus, and with no change in circumstances on the horizon, we agreed it was best to sunset the sims.

We know this may come as a disappointment, and we understand that everyone will have their own feelings about it. We simply ask that we continue to treat one another with kindness and respect as we work through this transition. The Discord server will remain up and active through the closure and after. We know we have a great community and do not wish to take that away.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of Eclipse Ridge. Whether you’ve been here from the beginning or joined us more recently, you’ve helped make this place what it was, and we’re grateful for the memories, stories, and friendships that came from it.

We’ll share any additional details as we get closer to the closure date.
